The "Wife ring" has been used in Norway ever since the Middle Ages, and is still being worn today both everyday and with the traditional Norwegian clothes. In the Sami area, it was tradition (until the 70's) that only married women could use such, preferably several ones at the same time. However, smooth gold rings could be used by everyone. The "Wife ring" could have different numbers of rings hanging from it, that in themselves had no meaning. 925 Sterling silver.
