The "Sun cross". This symbol comes in many different variants and are some of the oldest historical symbols - originally used by Finnish-Ugrian peoples in northern Russia. These embellished the belt but had a practical feature as well as an attachment for knifes, scissors, keys etc, as well as a "needle tent/nállugoahti" which is a container for sewing needles.
